  • What equipment is provided?
We provide you with a craft appropriate for the session (paddleboard, sit-on-top kayak or sea kayak), paddle, buoyancy aid (with a zip pocket), helmet and, if appropriate, a spray deck. For activities lasting longer than 2 hours we can also provide you with a dry bag (for a packed lunch and spare clothing) free of charge. Wetsuit hire is available at an additional cost for all our activities, on a first come, first served basis. These are £6 for taster sessions, and £10 for everything else. Wetsuits are sanitised in between uses, and customers must wear underwear or a base layer too.
  • What do I need to bring/wear?
All our activities take place on the water, which means at the minimum your feet, ankles and hands will get wet. You will also likely get splashed by the water as you paddle, and in kayaks the seat gets wet too. Wearing and bringing appropriate clothing to keep ourselves dry and/or warm on and off the water is an important part of our overall enjoyment and wellbeing. Many of our activities involve a journey along an estuary or coastline, so we must be self-sufficient on the water. Please assume that, once we are underway, you won’t be able to return to the start/end point, or use any shops or cafes, until the activity is complete. There's a full list of what to wear and bring on our website, and this is also emailed to you when you book on an activity.
  • Do I need to be able to swim?
Those who are less able or confident in the water are welcome to participate, but we do like to know this so we can ensure you have an enjoyable experience. We provide all our customers with a buoyancy aid which helps keep you afloat in the water.
  • How do I book?
The quickest and easiest way is to book any activity is on our website. You can also call us on 07700 144321, although as we are on the water a lot we might not be able to respond straight away. Where dates are set to meet your requirements, such as private lessons or family tasters, you can make a 'booking request' online, and we will confirm by email or call you to arrange.
  • Do I need to complete a registration form for every activity?
Yes! This is to ensure that we have the necessary information to keep you safe on the water, and to match you with the appropriate equipment.
  • What if the weather is bad?
All paddle sport activities depend on favourable weather, and occasionally we may need to change location. But the good news is that in Pembrokeshire we are blessed with more than 180 miles of coastline, beautiful estuaries and rivers - all within an around hour's drive. If we do need to change location, we will find the nearest best alternative, and give you 48 hours notice. If the weather is severe, we may need to postpone the session in which case you will be offered a refund. We don't cancel sessions if it is raining – paddling in the rain is fun!
  • Where are you based?
We run sessions all around the Pembrokeshire coastline to take advantage of tidal cycles, weather conditions, and coastal features. The aim is always to provide you with a safe and enjoyable experience, appropriate to your skill level and the activity you have booked onto. Because of this, we don't have a Centre that you can visit, although we do have an operational base on the Milford Haven estuary where we store and maintain our fleet and equipment.
  • Is there a minimum or maximum age?
The minimum age for all our activities is 14 years, and those aged below 18 must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult. Some activities are for adults only, usually where we expect to paddle longer distances or in more challenging conditions. There’s no maximum age at all!
